The StarCapture5 Desktop application can be installed on a Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 workstation.
The duration and the effort estimated for the installation of the solution: about 15 minutes.
If the license activation was skipped during installation, you must activate it before using the application for the first time. In order to do this, access Start – StarCapture5 Desktop License Manager. To activate license or update an existing one, click the Activate/Refresh license button. Fill in the identification code in the Your serial number field. Select one of the following options:
According to the operating system version, you can uninstall the application either from Control Panel – Add or Remove Programs or from Control Panel – Programs – Programs and Features. Select StarCapture5 Desktop application and click the Remove button.
Star Storage announces End-of-Support for StarCapture version 4.x, 3.x, 2.x according to the following schedule: • End of Sale - December 1, 2017 • End-of-Support - March 31, 2018.
Star Storage will not provide any support for these versions of the product and its related components beyond the End-of-Support date.
Please contact your Star Storage Account Manager by December 31, 2017 to review Star Storage Services' upgrade program and arrange for your upgrade.

Cause
This error is likely to appear when you click Scan documents (ISIS), after you have previously used Scan documents (WIA), and the application was not restarted.
Solution
To utilize the scanning function using the ISIS driver, you need to close and restart StarCapture5 Desktop.

This error message appears when you transmit the batch of documents to SEAL, if the value assigned to the issued date index is a date earlier than the date of entry into force of the file plan in SEAL.
For the issued date index of the indexing schema used, the date entered must be no earlier or equal to the date the file plan in SEAL entries into force.
This error message appears when you transmit the batch of documents in SharePoint, if the value of the Object name setting contains the „–” character, in the SharePoint export configuration.
In the interface for configuring the export in SharePoint, remove the „–” character from the Object name field.
This error message appears when you transmit the batch of documents to SEAL, if the value of a metadata contains the special characters: „–” or „ %”.
Remove the special characters („–” or „ %”) from the metadata values, so that the export to work properly.
When you click the button for transmitting documents to SEAL, the Confirm export settings window is displayed. If you enter wrong authentication data in the SEAL Authentication section, the list of the SEAL archives cannot be obtained. The application returns an error message.
To obtain the SEAL archives list in which you can transmit the batch of documents from SC5, fill in valid server credentials.
